Question: Why is an Elevator Pitch Important?

Today's Task: Your Turn!!!

Task Today: Writing your own Elevator Pitch!  

Step 1: Time to login to the CLE 11 2022/2023 Team (Tip! Use the Teams App located on the bottom tool bar of your laptops OR utilize Chrome > Office365 > Teams) 

Step 2: Go to the CLE 11 2022/2023 Team. 

Step 3: Click on > Assignments 

Step 4: Click on > Elevator Pitch Session Oct 25 2022 Assignment. 

Step 5: Review the assignment directions and create your own elevator pitch utilizing the information you have learned. There is a word doc to edit right inside the assignment inside Teams for you.

IMPORTANT: Please be sure that your elevator pitch includes the following (in the following order). 7 lines in total minimum! 

Line 1: Your Title: Your Name & Elevator Pitch 

Example: Hi, I'm Jane.  

Line 2: Who are you? (3 interesting things about yourself and your passion/spark(s)

Example: I'm an avid reader and skier who loves to provide amazing customer service. 

Line 3. Your background -E.g. you are a student RSS. Also include a quick summary of your general work experience to date. 

Example: I am a Grade 11 student at RSS. I also have 2 years of tourism & hospitality experience working at the front desk reception counter at RMR.

Line 4: Include context -Where? More about your work experience - provide some more personal context.

Example: RMR stands for, Revelstoke Mountain Resort, which is located in Revelstoke, B.C. During my time at the front desk I have provided amazing customer service to hundreds of locals in addition to thousands of domestic and international travelers. 

Line 5: Make connection with person you are speaking with. E.g what can you offer them/their organization.

Example: I hope to expand upon my hospitality and tourism experience by gaining a work experience placement with your organization who is a leader in the hospitality field. I believe that my past tourism focused customer service experience would be an invaluable asset to you and your team. 

Line 6: The Ask

Example: Where can I obtain more information regarding applying with your HR representative to obtain a work experience placement and/or paid position with your organization? 

Line 7: The Close 

Example: Thank you so much for your time today. I look forward to chatting further with you in future regarding a position with your organization. 


Lines 1-7 - put it all together :) 



Once complete (Your lines 1-7) please add your Elevator Pitch to the Elevator Pitch Assignment inside Teams. Again, there is already a word document in the Elevator Assignment inside Teams for you to edit. Once complete click 'Close' then 'Submit' inside Teams to ensure that your assignment is submitted and ready for marking /10.

* FINAL NOTE: Before submitting please check in with your lesson facilitator as to whether or not your elevator pitch is fully complete. (Including Lines 1-7). Please be sure that you have checked your grammar, capitalization etc. 

Once complete - click > CLOSE and then > SUBMIT (inside Teams) on this Assignment.
